I dream of green

"I look out of my window and I dream of green"

I used to occasionally visit a lovely lady who lived a few houses down from me. Unfortunately a cataract operation had gone wrong, she once told me the above quote. I used every green water color pencil I have to color this image.

I used -Oxford Press art stamp colored with green pencils.

This is my entry to the Allsorts challenge blog which is -thank you card.
I used - indigo blu stamp colored with pink water colored pencils and a stamp my friend gave me with no packaging, so no idea who made it (soz!)

And last but no means least this is my entry to this weeks Less is more challenge red and green

I used -katzelcraft stamps and free papers.I love this chap he looks so hopeful!

Here are a couple of green shots to warm you under winter grey skies.

Humming birds and cherry blossoms

Season greetings,

Here is my entry to the Less is More Challenge - stamp layering.

I tried using a layered flower stamp and have learned that  I am rubbish at this form of stamping! I have ordered a Tim Holtz stamp platform in the hope that this will help and because they are cool. So anyway here is a masked card using the fabulous designs by Ryn -Humming bird, visible image stamps and a line stamp that is so old it keeps trying to tell me about the last ice age.

I am also entering this card into the Designs by Ryn - November customer creation challenge.

I also made this very plain CAS card  for the That's Crafty challenge blog which has the challenge - Forever Floral. I love this quote from Monet (via Alison Bomber's paper artsy stamps.)

As it is cold and rather grey outside here is a photo I took of a hummingbird moth while I was on holiday, much to the great puzzlement of people sitting near me!

flight

Hi,

My friend gave birth to a beautiful baby girl called Hester, so I googled it and found it means star in Hebrew. I had just the papers and just the quote (one of the paper artsy Alison Bomber sets I want all of them, she is ruining my bank balance!) I dug out an old magazine freebie of a feather die cut and tada!

I am entering this into the following challenges:
less is more - take flight
Sisters of Snark - lost and found - feather die
that's crafty -fly away

feathers and stars

Greetings,

sorry about the photos they went a tad blurry. I got really inspired by the less is more challenge this week, use a real object. I loved an article in Mixed Up mag where feathers were painted and just changed into wonderful pieces of art. So I had a go at stamping on a feather I had picked up.... I am now totally addicted to it, may need a support group addicted!  I was collecting feathers on the way home, I say on the way I walked in the opposite direction to my house then looped back round.
Anyway give it a go, the results can be stunning.

Also entering this into That's crafty - only cards challenge.

Try it on Tuesday - in my garden.

I wish I had a zen garden, I have a more over grown graveyard style!
here are a few photos of Japan, visited far too long ago...

Poison boxes and mango monsters

So I took a nice pine box and made it look really old and scruffy. It's ironic how much time and effort I put into making this new box look like it had been on a dusty witch's shelf.

I painted it silver then crackle glazed it, then painted it white. I then printed out poison labels and pasted them on with Decoart Media matte medium as a transfer paste. So much fun! and it turned out how I have imagined it.
I am entering this into :
That's crafty challenge - anything but a card
Not Just cards -anything goes
Altered Electics - anything goes

and now for the Mango monster...
My friend has had a baby recently and  I wanted to create a card for her first child as I think they often feel left out.

The card is tropical fruit colors, starting with lemon and lime, moving to Mango and then orange and finally the lovely purple of some dragon fruits (my favorite.) I am sending this image to cause havoc in the following challenges:
Simon says stamp -for a child
Less is more -Tropical Fruit
Sisterhood of snarky stampers- M is for mink

Grunge

Greetings,

I have man flu so creating a grunge deaths head moth tomb stone was fitting today. I used visible image stamps, deaths head moth and grunge swirl on top of a that's crafty MDF monolith which I had painted with Tim Holtz metallic distress paint, copper, then used paper artsy crackle glaze and then old lace deco art paint.

I am entering this into the That's crafty challenge- grunge
Craft stamper challenge - anything goes
the male room - mixed media  (it was inspired by man flu...)

I was lucky enough to go the Summer exhibition on Monday here are some photos of some of the art displayed.

memories

 Greetings,

I created the background using a book page which I gessoed then used the oxide distress inks through a stencil by Andy Skinner. I am a bit obsessed with fossil shells and the golden ratio so I have a couple of stencils and numerous stamps! I was playing with my Visible image stamps and saw how well the time spiral fitted... there will be more of these to come! Finished it off with a Tim Holtz chit chat sticker.

I am entering this into That's Crafty's anything goes challenge.

I was lucky enough to visit  Sissinghurst Castle in Kent recently, it is heavenly.

Time

Greetings,

I have been playing with my new Visible Image stamps a head of time. The images are so striking and as time is one of themes I keep returning to, I lusted after them as soon as I saw them. I have used white paint in the eye and then a black dot as think this gives it a touch of the sinister.

The current simply less is more challenge is to use a colored background this is a joint challenge with AAA Cards. It is a deadly One Layer Card challenge!

I have also been getting creative/messy with paint and here is the matching tag which I think looks a little Brett Weldele ish - love his art work and lust after his rubber stamps .The drips that he often uses became splatters with paint painted on with a credit card, the background he gives his central figures was created with a baby wipe.
I am entering this into the That's crafty challenge - anything goes.

Talking of time it is by birthday in a week, I feel a bit like this butterfly, fabulous if a little worn around the edges!

Here is the Mews

 Greetings,

On a beautiful summer Sunday, once again the Tim Holtz Hipster stamps have inspired a ton of puns. I don't know about you but at the moment I read news websites from behind a cushion! which is probably where this card idea comes from.

the less is more challenge is national flag colors so here is the union jack colors.

Here is a further one I did of the same design in green.

Hope you are having a simple delicious weekend in the sun.
